Senate Banking Committee Passes Hunter Bill Based on Duggan Proposal to Prevent Blight, Auction Abuse

The Michigan Senate Banking and Financial Institutions Committee voted today to pass Senate Bill 295, legislation sponsored by Senate Minority Floor Leader Tupac A. Hunter (D-Detroit) that is designed to improve neighborhoods and combat blight by banning landowners with blight fines from bidding in county tax foreclosure auctions.
